Tacoma

Tacoma is a city located in Pierce County, Washington, United States. It is situated on the banks of Puget Sound, approximately 30 miles southwest of Seattle. The city covers an area of 62.34 square miles (161.36 km²) and has a population of approximately 215,000 people as of the 2020 census, making it the third-largest city in the state.

 

Tacoma is known for its thriving arts and cultural scene, as well as its historic architecture and landmarks. The city is home to several museums, including the Tacoma Art Museum, the Museum of Glass, and the Washington State History Museum. The Chihuly Bridge of Glass, which features works by renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly, is also a popular attraction in the city.

 

Tacoma is also a major port city and has a long history of industrial and maritime commerce. The Port of Tacoma is one of the largest container ports in North America, and the city is home to several major manufacturing and distribution centers, including the Tacoma Dome, which hosts a variety of events and concerts throughout the year.
